MISAM & Atelier and the Creative Experience
In the heart of the municipality of Montefiore Conca, Rimini, Italy
In the historic village of Montefiore Conca, nestled in the hills of Romagna and overlooking the Adriatic Sea, Umberto Corsucci’s MISAM atelier and museum represent a unique place of artistic research, education, and experimentation.
Here, art is not separate from the landscape but becomes an integral part of it—an experience that brings together creation, silence, and contemplation.
The Setting
The place chosen by Umberto Corsucci is no coincidence. Montefiore Conca is one of the most evocative medieval villages in the inland area of Romagna—a place where time seems to slow down and the gaze can finally open itself. Resting on the hills of the Valconca, the village overlooks a vast and silent landscape that stretches all the way to the Adriatic Sea, offering a rare sense of suspension and freedom.
Here, among stone alleyways, ancient walls, and luminous panoramas, history naturally engages in dialogue with contemporary creativity. The Rocca Malatestiana, the symbolic heart of the village, watches over a territory that invites contemplation, while the M.I.S.A.M. Park Museum, adjacent to the historic center, hosts works of art immersed in the landscape, where nature and artistic form meet without boundaries.
Montefiore Conca is an ideal place for creative work and artistic research: the silence, the distance from major urban centers, and the direct contact with the substance of the land foster an authentic relationship with time, gesture, and thought. It is a space where art is not merely exhibited, but lived.
The village is also a point of connection between different worlds: cycling routes and hill trails cross the Valconca and lead toward the sea and the beaches of the Riviera, while nearby lie places of extraordinary beauty such as San Marino, Urbino, Cattolica, Rimini, and Riccione—where history, art, and contemporary life intertwine.
Visiting Montefiore Conca means entering a place that speaks to the soul, where the landscape becomes inspiration and silence turns into language. A village not simply to be passed through, but to be listened to, breathed in, and carried with you.
Montemaggiore Arte
The cultural association Montemaggiore Arte was founded with the aim of promoting contemporary sculpture, artistic education, and dialogue between art and the local territory.
Through exhibitions, workshops, residencies, and courses, the association supports the dissemination of sculptural culture and provides a space for exchange among artists, students, and enthusiasts from international backgrounds.

MISAM – International Open-Air Sculpture Museum
M.I.S.A.M. was conceived as an open space of relationship rather than a museum in the traditional sense. Here, sculpture is not simply displayed but inhabits the place, becoming part of a living balance between material, gesture, and environment. The works mark the territory with discretion, inviting those who encounter them to pause, listen, and perceive.
This is a place to be experienced with both body and spirit, where direct engagement with the surrounding environment becomes part of the creative process. Nature is not a backdrop, but an active presence: it accompanies the artistic work, reshapes its perception, and expands its meaning.
Umberto Corsucci’s atelier is a space of practice and transformation, where sculpture is born from the meeting of experience, research, and intuition. Here, technique and freedom, tradition and experimentation coexist in a process that does not impose forms but lets them emerge. The courses and workshops—dedicated to marble, stone, wood, ceramic, and bronze—are designed as individual experiences, open both to those approaching sculpture for the first time and to those wishing to deepen their artistic language.
Within this context, lived spiritually and in deep dialogue with the local culture, each participant is guided to rediscover the artist within themselves through a slow, conscious, and authentic process of creation. It is not just about learning a technique, but about entering into a relationship with the material, with time, and with one’s own vision.
