Welcome to the Clay Modeling and Ceramics Course
The Montemaggiore Arte M.I.S.A.M. Association invites you to participate in a high-level artistic training course dedicated to clay modeling and ceramics.
Where
The course takes place in the creative workshops of MISAM – International Open-Air Sculpture Museum, at the Montemaggiore Arte Cultural Association, located next to the charming village of Montefiore Conca (RN), in Emilia-Romagna.
A unique place: a hill overlooking the sea, surrounded by greenery, unspoiled landscapes, and spectacular views—ideal for stimulating inspiration and concentration. Discover more about the location here.

Who It Is For
The course is open to everyone: beginners, enthusiasts, and professionals of any age who wish to deepen or refine their skills in the art of terracotta and ceramics.
Course Fees
- 1 week: €1,000 all-inclusive: course + accommodation with 7 nights, breakfasts, and meals
(For camper participants: €600) - 2 weeks: €1,700 all-inclusive: course + accommodation with 14 nights, breakfasts, and meals
(For camper participants: €850)
To reserve a place, a deposit of 30% of the total amount is required.
👉 The remaining balance must be paid upon arrival.

Program and What Is Included
- Fundamentals of clay modeling
- Terracotta and ceramics working techniques
- Glaze technology and application
- Firing of ceramic pieces
- Personalized assistance and coaching
- Wheel throwing and pottery making
- Continuous guidance from sculptor Umberto Corsucci and his staff
The working models are decided and guided by the instructor to encourage interaction among participants and to stimulate the exchange of ideas, as well as artistic and critical growth.
Duration and Schedule
Duration: courses are organized in one- or two-week modules
Days: Monday to Saturday
Hours: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM (afternoon session optional)
Alternative dates can be arranged upon agreement with the Montemaggiore Arte Association.
Important Notes
- All working materials are included
- Personal protective equipment is included (masks, gloves, shoes)
- Accident and liability insurance included
- The artworks created remain the property of the student (artworks must not exceed a maximum height of 30 cm for ceramics and 40 cm for terracotta)
- Of the vases produced, only five become the property of the participant; the others are destroyed (unless otherwise agreed and upon additional payment, in which case they become the student’s property).
